Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park and one of the most interesting national parks in Uganda. Home to incredible wildlife including giraffes, lions, hippos and many others, this park is one of the best safari destinations to visit while taking a Uganda safari around the Pearl of Africa. The park adopts its name from the Murchison falls created by the Victoria Nile River that flows through the park on its way to Lake Albert.
interesting safari destination to Visit on Valentines Day .
Though its rhino population was entirely killed by poachers in the 1970s, there is still much to see in Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to a good number of elephants, Rothschild giraffes, lion, Ugandan kob, hippos and crocodiles, waterbuck, buffaloes, leopards, sitatunga, spotted hyenas etc.
Overall I think I liked the food a lot more than anyone else, but I have really sensitive taste buds, so the bland Ugandan food worked well for me. I can’t believe I ate fish here; much less eating from an entire fish just plopped on my plate complete with head and tail! It was tilapia and it was good! For proof, check out the pictures! I’m really excited to eat American food again. For my first dinner back we had pizza!
I can’t believe how many pictures I took on this trip – 1,300! Most of them are now on Facebook, so check them out!
I got so many amazing souvenirs – I know the people I got them for are going to love them! And I love the ones I’m keeping! I just wish I could have brought more stuff back, so I could bring something for all of my family members! Sorry everyone I couldn’t bring stuff home for!
I can’t believe I’m home. It’s so weird being here. Everything is just so different. It was so nice, yet so strange to finally see Andy again at the airport. The flights weren’t actually that bad, but I think that’s because I was excited to come home and see everyone.
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll probably write more reflections at some point and I might type up my journal from the class, too. We’ll see. As you may have noticed I’m up quite early right now. I’m having a bit of trouble adjusting back to the central time zone! I’m sure I’ll adjust pretty quickly, though.
